She is a certified dog trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, where she obtained her CPDT-KA certification. Janelle recently received her Fear Free Professional Certification. She began working in animal welfare in 2013 and has been a dog behavior specialist for national animal rescue organizations. Working in animal shelters and rescue organizations has given her the incredible opportunity to work with literally thousands of dogs of all backgrounds, ages, breeds, and a wide range of behavioral and medical issues. Many of the animals came from cruelty or hoarding cases. Working hands-on with so many different dogs in a stressful shelter environment has been an invaluable and ongoing learning experience. Helping dogs and humans live in harmony is her passion.

Janet Holter is a certified professional dog trainer, with expertise in coaching with positive energy. Her methods include using a “focus and respond” technique encouraging a dog to think before they act.

Known for her effective means of training, Janet coaches to promote a solid relationship between a dog and their people. She believes in positive reinforcement as the dog develops and excels in communication. Using consistency, patience and practice, her students overcome their challenges becoming awesome dogs. She believes in the ability to play and not rough house, to eat without fear, and to have manners around your guests. Your dog can be shaped to fit into your lifestyle with the right training.

Her innovative coaching techniques have been developed over 32 years, where she began with her own dogs winning obedience trials, then becoming a professional trainer. She formally trained under Dr. Ian Dunbar, veterinarian, and a world-renowned doctor of animal behavior.
